A MARKET-BASED WORKER VISA PROGRAM

In fall 2012 and winter 2013, ImmigrationWorks led a team of Washington business representatives to create a proposal for a market-based visa program for low-skilled, non-farm workers. Participants included the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the National Restaurant Association, among others. The proposal looks beyond existing and largely unworkable temporary worker programs and recent plans for an expert commission to determine immigration levels and develops new ideas for admitting foreign workers to take jobs for which there are no willing and able U.S. workers.
